Female Founders: Jacksonville Edition

Prior to knowing the theme “Choose to Challenge” for International Women’s Day, Anact founder and CEO, Brianna Kilcullen began creating change from challenge through her brand and activism. She is spearheading two initiatives this March by hoping to inspire women and bring newfound local awareness to International Women’s Day.

On Saturday, March 13th, Anact and Sight & Sound Productions are hosting a drive-in where they are screening the film Knock Down the House. The focus of the event is to celebrate women in office and inspire the next generation to run and represent their community in a socially distanced space.

For the second initiative, Brianna teamed up with 2 UNF graduates and 30 female founders in Jacksonville to showcase a community of women that are driving change and entrepreneurship efforts in North Florida.

The video celebrates hustle as well as comradery between well-known names like Gen W founder Donna Orender, to local favorites like Callie Marie with Brew, to new-comers like Alexis Lior with Adeleighs Treasure.

Brianna mentioned “Jacksonville has a weird stigma where we don’t support one another especially women supporting other women. We want to change that narrative by showing that when one of us rises, we all rise. We have to believe there is abundance and that if someone else is doing something that means there is an opportunity for all of us, men and women, to chase our dreams while supporting one another.”

Below is a list of female founded businesses to support in Jacksonville. Please note this list does not include all female founded businesses based in Jacksonville.

We encourage you to support these businesses by buying their products/services or following them on social media. Because when one of us rises, we all rise.
